Downstairs, in our welcoming entrance area you’ll find a range of non-fiction (focusing on the Scottish Borders and Scotland) along with maps and guides. Our main fiction area is now downstairs, accompanied by crime and poetry, with a comfy armchair next to the window overlooking the Pennywhiggam Burn that runs past the shop. We will always aim to stock the latest Scottish writers and will be informed by newspaper and book review publications, as well as your own feedback.

Our children’s books have their own specially-created space with a separate area for toys and games (including a table for little ones to enjoy some colouring-in.)

Up our spiral staircase you will find our range of books continues, with non-fiction (including nature and environment, cookery and lifestyle) along with horror, science-fiction, graphic, and young adult. We have a carefully-curated selection of gifts from ethical and environmentally-friendly suppliers as well as a growing range from talented local artists and craftspeople.

Throughout the bookshop, you will find comfy armchairs to sit and browse through your selection. We also have review publications for you to browse; always without any obligation. If you are not able to make it upstairs, we will of course be happy to bring a selection downstairs for you to look through.

If you aren’t able to visit us, or we happen to be closed when you need a book quickly, you can buy through our profile on bookshop.org.
